We will be returning! Everything and more we loved about this place! Marilyn was a great host! Kept up on our linens, garbage, and water- just as promised. Scenery was amazing!

Dakota Sunrise Cabin (King/Full/Twin)

Marilyn's cabin was cozy and comfortable. She was welcoming and full of local information. Her staff was top notch and extremely helpful and I would recommend a stay to others.

Trail’s End Cabin (King/Twin)

Buffalo Rock (where this cabin is) was a fantastic place to stay. We got a personal tour from the owner when we checked in, so that we would know where everything was. The grounds were gorgeous and fantastically cared for. The cabin came exactly as described. The place was also teeming with animals: there were a couple of deer that seemed to be totally chill with hanging around people, a bunch of friendly chickens, and a rather gregarious cat. I would highly recommend staying here. The host was easy to talk to, had great recommendations, and made booking here easy. When I come back through the Black Hills and need a place to stay, this will be the place I am going to look.

The place was perfect. We had everything we needed. It was clean. Easily accessible. And then having the large communal outdoor eating place with a grill and a fireplace were perfect.

Tatanka Ridge Cabin (King/Twin/Twin)

Loved staying in this cabin - Marilyn was super communicative and helpful, even though my sister and I checked in after dark. She personally greeted us and showed us our cabin, which was much appreciated after a long day of travel. The space itself was quiet and private - loved that there was a water cooler in the unit and a coffee pot so we could enjoy a quick breakfast before heading into town and off to hikes. The bathroom and shower, while separate from the sleeping area, was modern and super clean. Would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Marilyn’s place was perfect for our vacation! Super nice hosts and adorable cabins for glamming! Loved the location in the mountains and close to Mount Rushmore. The bed was super comfortable, slept well!

Woodpecker Point Family Cabin (King/Sofabed/Twin x 4)

We loved staying at one of the cabins at Buffalo Rock Lodge! The setting was gorgeous, nestled in amongst the trees and rock outcroppings, and we enjoyed the visiting deer and wild turkeys. Our cabin was well-appointed, clean and comfortable, and the central grill/picnic area was great for cooking dinner and chatting with the neighbors. Marilyn is really hospitable, from the detailed instructions to the complimentary snacks she left us. We can’t wait to come back!

Woodpecker Point Family Cabin (King/Sofabed/Twin x 4)

My buddies and I did my bachelor’s trip at her cabin for the weekend and had a great time. The fire place is amazing and the bathrooms are WAY nicer than I would have expected for a campground! I would love to go there again in the future!

Whitetail Hollow Cabin (King/Twin/Twin)

This place is located perfectly for families wanting to bounce around doing day trips to Rapid City, Deadwood, Custer, Mount Rushmore, and all the little stuff to do in between while having the same bed every night. The cabin was great for our two big dogs, so glad to have a place we can stay with them. You cannot leave your pets unattended here but that was no problem for us as our boys were on trails with us the whole time. It did rain pretty hard while we were there and a lot of black moths came into the cabin (windows were not open) but they stayed on the ceiling and didn’t hinder my sleep at all. The detached bathroom/ shower was very nice and there is a portable potty closer to the cabins if you don’t feel like making the hike up at night. Beautiful little playground/ cookout…

We stayed a week at cabin 3 . Loved the cabin . Was everything we were told it would be plus more . The view , quite peaceful, wildlife and nature were awesome . Hospitality was great , wonderful people to deal with . Would definitely reserve it again or the bigger cabin , it looked beautiful .

We were coming from the Grand Tetons and the drive took longer than expected after our last hike that morning, we were going to be late and communicated with Marilyn about our arrival time. She made sure check in was easy, gave perfect directions to our cabin and explained everything earlier over the phone in the case we missed her. She mentioned a worker might see us and they’d help, which they did when we pulled in. Everyone was so nice! We were there to hike and having the extra water jug in the cabin was so nice! Also great to not have to bring our own towels, and having our own bathroom and shower area fully stocked. I wish we had more time there to enjoy her location, it was beautiful and tons to do.

Whitetail Hollow Cabin (King/Twin/Twin)

It was a good location, close to Mt. Rushmore. The location was also very beautiful, however… the bathrooms at the top of the hill was frustrating especially if we just wanted to wash our hands. We enjoyed having the bathrooms cleaned everyday. Seen a lot of wildlife across the street and on the property which was super neat! - we had wished the cabin had more kitchen supplies so we could cook more. Since we were on a budget.

Loved this cabin! it's very quiet and peaceful with deer right out the door! The hills and trees are great and you can rest. Can't say enough about Marilyn as a welcoming host and Gideon as the tech expert!! Really enjoyed staying here.
